PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST CONTACT SUPPORT FIRST TO ENABLE THIS FOR EACH DOMAIN YOU WISH TO MANAGE IN THIS WAY AS YOU WILL RECEIVE A PASSWORD SPECIFICALLY FOR USE SETTING UP THIS ACCOUNT. THIS IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OUTLOOK 2013 UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO AN OUTLOOK BUG, IT DOES WORK WITH PREVIOUS VERSIONS.
It’s possible to access the email quarantine via IMAP which gives you access to the following email functions from your email client:
- Caught: All incoming messages which have been quarantined can be found in this folder. It’s not necessary to report these emails as Spam again, as they have already been classified as such. These emails will automatically expire.
- Release & Train: This is a write-only folder (which cannot be accessed by the email client). Emails drag/dropped from “Caught” to this folder will be delivered to the recipient and reported as a classification mistake to our central systems
- Release: This is a write-only folder (which cannot be accessed by the email client). Emails drag/dropped from “Caught” to this folder will be delivered to the recipient only.
- Not Spam: This is a write-only folder (which cannot be accessed by the email client). Emails drag/dropped from “Caught” or “Training Requested” to this folder will be reported as a classification mistake to our central systems (it will not be delivered to the recipient)
- Spam: This is a write-only folder (which cannot be accessed by the email client). Emails drag/dropped to this folder will be reported as a Spam to our central systems (it will not be delivered to the recipient). This is useful to report spam which was not blocked correctly directly from the email client.
THUNDERBIRD GUIDE:
1. Add a new account to Thunderbird, entering your email address and the password is the one that NetHosted Support provided to you.
2. Choose Manual Config.
3. Enter mx1.solardns.com as the incoming IMAP account with settings shown. Set your username to be the email domain you want to access the quarantine for. When prompted for a password it is the one that NetHosted Support provided to you.
4. This is now setup, you can drag emails from the Caught folder to Release, Release and Train or Not Spam as required. You can also drag emails from your main email account into the Spam folder to teach SOLAR if any spam is missed.
OUTLOOK GUIDE (NOT 2013):
1. Add a new account to Outlook, selecting to Manually configure settings.
2. Choose Internet E-mail.
3. Enter your details including email address, select the IMAP server type and set incoming mail server to mx1.solardns.com. Set your username to be the email domain you want to access the quarantine for, the password is the one that NetHosted Support provided to you. Uncheck the Test Account Settings box and click Next.
4. This is now setup, you can drag emails from the Caught folder to Release, Release and Train or Not Spam as required. You can also drag emails from your main email account into the Spam folder to teach SOLAR if any spam is missed.
